The Art Galleries of Silver Lake, Echo Park & Los Feliz are pleased to

Art Crawl 5

Thursday and Friday, September 19th and 20th, 7 to 10 PM
Saturday, September 22, 12 to 7PM

Invitations will have a map of the area and the gallery locations clearly marked. For a copy, visit www.ceart.com/artcrawl, stop in at La Luz de Jesus gallery, or call 323-666-7667 for a faxed copy.

Art Crawl 5 features 22 galleries in Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Echo Park, showcasing an art scene as diverse and intriguing as the communities from which it has emerged.

The free three-day event on September 19-21 provides insight into the dynamic neighborhoods where the future of art in Los Angeles is taking shape in all forms: lowbrow, highbrow, erotic, folk, outsider, photography, industrial and performance.

Art Crawlers will discover several new galleries and exhibition spaces as the area's profile continues to rise and attract newcomers. The City of Los Angeles' Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Art Park will also participate by sponsoring a special exhibition in association with the Crawl.

This self-guided tour will explore an art scene that Los Angeles Times art critic David Pagel said has expanded "the boundaries for contemporary art fans well beyond the Westside‚?¶ For viewers, much of the excitement resides in making discoveries, in seeing pieces by up-and-coming artists."

Galleries will be open late on Thursday and Friday night during the Crawl, with many of the venues offering entertainment as well as refreshments and snacks. The tour‚??s expanded daytime hours on Saturday will give Art Crawlers and their families from the Westside, San Fernando Valley and other distant locales plenty of time to enjoy the area‚??s galleries as well as eclectic shops, restaurants and other attractions.

The Art Crawl coincides this year with the Silver Lake Film Festival‚??s Fringe Fest, which highlights the intersections of art, community, and film making. More information can be found at silverlakefilmfestival.com/

More detailed information, hi-resolution downloadable publicity images and a map will be posted online at: www.ceart.com/artcrawl.
