History of the Firelands

A short history of the area in Ohio where I grew up. Even as rural as the area is, it is hard to imagine it as "the frontier" with a variety of native tribes living off the land and, in some cases, fighting for the French against the English. We have regularly found artifacts in our fields including arrowheads, skinning tools and more. The tribes live on here, in name only at least, as county, town and street names and more. Some include Erie, Huron, Wyandot, Tuscararwus (sp?)
